hi veblen....

i am assuming you are passing along news...

i have listened to some Particle. i will not listen to particle again.

let's make an analogy. lots of people start restaurants. there is a real stat i am sure, but i will venture that 30% of the people that start restaurants are qualified to do so, another 30% have a clue about it, in one respect or another, but are in over their heads, and another 30% have no business being in the trade.... the other 10% are unexplainable.

of the 30% that are qualified 10-15% will succeed and have businesses that will last more than 5 years and perhaps develop into franchises, or at least Restauranteurship -- wherein the original chef/owner opens subsequent establishments. (i think that is probably generous.)

a much smaller percentage (well less than 1%) of the qualified will start restaurants that beget other restaurants by way of their practical offspring. these restaurants will beget offspring by training people to have a similar view of practices and ingredients such that they will go on to start successful enterprises of their own which espouse a similar view of practices and ingredients.

to me, the idea of Phil playing with Particle is the equivalent of Austin Leslie "cooking" at a Rest Stop Kentucky Fried Chicken, like one of the ones that is attached to a Taco Bell and an AM/PM gas station... you know the ones.

i am not trying to pick on anyone or anything.... but i consider PL to be a consumate musician... and i am far from impressed by particle. they have no songs/emotional content.... i.e. they don't sing... they vamp over some really boring electronic-type beats -- the shit goes nowhere fast.... the beer is always too expensive, because YOU'RE GONNA NEED A LOT of it to enjoy what they have to offer.

and BTW, i am not bashing particle -- i am bashing the entire UN-INSPIRING 2008 music scene - give me Katy Perry -- she is about 1,000 times more interesting than particle -- at least she's hot!

just passing on the news...

though it would take a lot for me to make it and I attend a lot of shows at great american (I love the venue)...but particle is not my cup of tea, or should I say my glass of ipa...

so you still haven't been to the phil show that you were/are ready for? New Year's Eve?

I wonder if the Bill Graham will try to be smoke free as I have observed in the recent past...

it's definitely tempting.... you going? are tix on sale/available?

i guess the short answer is... tickets will be sold out by the time i figure it out.. i am just not that motivated. ever since i have known of this stupid band, you have to be basically waiting with bated breath for the tickets to become available.......

let's see.....

yeah. i am not going... there are a bunch of people way more excited than me... for the first time in my life i am gonna see if i can pull any strings and get some FREE tickets! i'll let you know if i come up.......

All I have to say is why are you using statistics and stuff to make a point that this line up is complete shit. I'm from PA and I'm a huge fan of Particle, String Cheese and or course the Grateful Dead. This is the only time I can actually see some cheese members get down, cause I now live in Sn Fran. Basically I just want to thank the guy that posted this because I probably wouldn't have noticed the show. Go back to business school man this is a music forum not a stat chart. Enjoy the tunes and I give you - karma for you first off enjoying katy perry just because she is hot. Personally I think you should prob. start paying for songs on iTunes like all the other goofs that like her.

Peace and much love to the guy that posted this news
+K to him

NO, I haven't heard particle. I'll take your word. I never doubted that they suck maybe they do ( like I said I haven't heard them ). All I was saying is you act all appalled that Phil is somehow above playing with these characters and all I was saying is have you heard Too Loose to Truck. That's all. First you yell at me for asking a question ( telling me to look shit up, I just was wondering if someone already knew ), now you're getting all bent over this. GEEZ man, do you need a Midol or something?
